Matthew “Matt” Harrod represents individual and commercial clients with estates, trusts and businesses of all sizes. He has experience with advanced transfer tax minimization techniques and planning tools that enhances privacy and protect assets from probate. Matt also advises clients with respect to planned charitable giving strategies and business creation, trademark filings for businesses, business operations, business contracts and succession planning. Matt, originally from Ohio, obtained his J.D. from Ohio Northern University and then went on to get his LLM in Taxation from the University of Miami, a specialized law degree focusing solely on tax law.
Matt decided to open up Harrod Law, PLLC out in Ponte Vedra Beach to better serve his clients while keeping their costs low. Matt is also a Martindale-Hubbell Rating of AV Preeminent™, the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards, reflecting the confidential opinions of members of the bar and judiciary. Mr. Harrod gives frequent lectures on estate planning, wealth transfer and business planning, helps teach several classes at the University of Florida regarding wealth preservation and asset protection for athletes and has even co-authored a chapter in Inside the Minds: Strategies for Trusts and Estates in Florida, 2011 Edition. Matt lives with his family in Nocatee (Lakeside neighborhood) and in his free time, Matt likes to spend time with his wife, Kim, sons, Cameron and Logan, support the Ohio State Buckeyes and Jacksonville Jaguars and golf.
